P1.7-million worth of shabu seized from public school teacher in CamSur drug bust
CAMP OLA, Albay – A public school teacher was arrested by anti-narcotics police in a drug buy-bust operation Tuesday night ni Nabua town, Camarines Sur province.
The suspect was identified as Tirzo Rolando Duran, 50, a public school teacher and a resident of Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Nabua town.
Citing a report from the Nabua Municipal Police Station (MPS), Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) Spokesperson Major Malu Calubaquib said that a poseur buyer was able to buy a plastic sachet of suspected shabu worth P76,000 from Duran before his stash of a substantial amount of illegal drugs was discovered.
Calubaquib said that the suspect was included in the list of those involved in the illegal drug trade, and was considered a high value target (HVT).
Recovered from the suspect was a handbag containing two knot-tied transparent plastic wrappers and seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu. Other paraphernalia and other personal belongings were also recovered from the suspect.
The suspect is now in custody at the Nabua MPS.
