Bacolod City has new police chief


BACOLOD CITY - The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) assigned Col. Manuel Placido as the new acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) effective September 28.

This, after Col. Henry Biñas was relieved from his post on the same day for career advancement, pursuant to a special order issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP) dated September 23.

Biñas said he received the written order on September 28. He was ordered to be transferred to the PNP Drug Enforcement Group in Camp Crame as Chief of Directorial Staff.

Biñas served the BCPO for one year and eight months since January 12, 2019.

Biñas led the unit to several accomplishments both operational and administrative, according to the regional headquarters.

Both Biñas and Placido are members of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) class 1995. 

Prior to his assignment in Bacolod, Placido came from the PNP Civil Security Group in Camp Crame.

Meanwhile, Biñas thanked the BCPO personnel for their dedication and service under his leadership.

He also met with Mayor Evelio Leonardia last Monday for his exit call, before flying to Manila Tuesday, September 29, to report to his new assignment.
