Caloocan LGU to give 66,000 free tablet devices to students

The Caloocan City government will give 66,000 tablet devices to the city's public (from Grade 9 to 12) students for the upcoming blended learning system.

Mayor Oca Malapitan made the announcement on Monday as he delivered his State of the City Address.

"Alam ko ang kahalagahan ng edukasyon, lalo na ngayong ipinapatupad na ang blended distance learning. Kung kaya mamimigay po tayo ng tablet sa lahat ng grade 9 hanggang grade 12 na nag-aaral sa ating pampublikong paaralan (I know the importance of education, especially since the blended distance learning is being implemented. That's why we're going to give tablets the city's grade 9 to 12 public school students)," Malapitan said.

Meanwhile, kinder to Grade 8 students will also be given free modules.

"Sinuportahan natin ang division of city schools ng Caloocan sa paggawa ng module sa pagbili ng makina at iba pang kagamitin para sa imprenta nito (We supported our division of city schools in printing modules through buying machines and other equipment necessary)," he said.

"Sa abot ng ating makakaya ay hindi po natin pinabayaan ang ating mga mag-aaral (We did not neglect our students on our own capacity)," he added.
