School teacher slain in anti-illegal drugs operation in Cotabato


NORTH COTABATO – A public school teacher, who was also an alleged drug trafficker, was killed in a drug entrapment operation conducted by police anti-narcotics operatives in Midsayap, Cotabato last Friday, September 25.

Midsayap Police Chief Lt.Col. Miridel Calinga identified the slain suspect as Jake Placibe, 23, assigned at the Sinapangan Elementary School in Libungan, North Cotabato.

He said the suspect, who was listed as a high-value drug trafficker, reportedly shot it out with anti-narcotics, who conducted drug bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Midsayap.

Calinga said the suspect yielded several grams of shabu and a .38 caliber revolver.

Police said the suspect resisted arrest during the drug stint by drawing a handgun.

Police said the suspect had been under surveillance for the past months plying his illegal drug trade in the area.
