Actress Jodi Sta. Maria can give the major boost you need with her inspirational posts.

For quite sometime now, Jodi has been sharing inspirational messages on social media – the latest of which is the simple life lessons people could learn from pottery.

Jodi, 38, likened life to pottery which is about “staying centered.” Sometimes she believes that it is hard to center a piece of clay unless people are centered and peaceful.

She also tackled how imperfections can also be beautiful. “Life just like the bowl making process isn’t perfect somewhere along the way somethings gets accidentally broken. But there is beauty in brokenness.”

Jodi pointed out the importance of not giving up. “If one didn’t succeed at first, they could always try again.”

“Nobody does it perfectly the first time. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Don’t be discouraged when you fail. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Learn from it and aim to be better,” she said.

The seasoned actress also said that people always need a helping hand.

She cited the term Zone of Proximal Development in Psychology which she said reminds everyone that they can’t learn everything on their own.

Jodi reiterated that sometimes people need other people with more skills, experience, knowledge, and wisdom to guide and teach them things they aren’t familiar with.

The actress-mother and psychology student also said that life is not always about “power” and “aggression” but rather it’s about “control” and “stillness.”

“A lot of people try to force the clay to do things..but the secret is controlling our actions and see it reflected on the clay. Stay calm,” she said.

Jodi capped her post with a thought that God has plan for everything.

“He is the potter, I am the clay… God shapes us and forms us and molds us turning us to vessels fit for His use. Without the potter the clay will never know its purpose. Without the potter the clay will never know what it’s made for.”

Prior to the said post, Jodi talked about having faith in God in this trying time.

“We all have our days when we feel we can’t survive. Sometimes, dreams may shatter, friendships may fall apart. Loved ones may hurt us. Finances may worry us. Sickness may overcome us. We may even lose people dear to us… BUT…JESUS will ALWAYS be there to guide us through the toughest of times. He will ALWAYS be there to heal our wounded spirit. He will ALWAYS be present regardless of how we feel. He will ALWAYS be there to help us pick up the pieces. He will ALWAYS provide for every need,” she promised. “Never lose faith. Hold on to hope. Trust in Him…always.”
