Globe highlights local esports industry in the first-ever G Legends Cup

As part of the celebration of the National G Day, Globe is putting the spotlight once again on the local esports industry and esports players through its first-ever G Legends Cup -- the biggest amateur Mobile Legends tournament for Globe customers including Globe prepaid and postpaid subscribers, Globe Business clients, Globe at Home and TM customers.

The G Legends Cup gathered teams from all over the country vying for a prize pool worth PHP 600,000. The top 64 teams of the competition will be given their cash prizes through their respective GCash app.

Apart from the G Legends Cup which also aims to promote camaraderie amid the restrictions and adjustments due to the pandemic, the commemoration of the National G Day which started last September 17 symbolically tagged as 0917 -- Globe’s well-known mobile number prefix -- is likewise filled with surprises and rewards for Globe’s loyal subscribers.

In a short message to mark the start of the annual National G Day, Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu shared that this is also the firm’s way of helping Filipinos adapt to the digital lifestyle.

Globe has been a supporter of the local esports industry and has since been conducting esports tournaments to promote and boost the gaming scene in the country. In 2019, Globe launched its first Esports Center at Play Nation in UP Town Center, Quezon City, which serves as a hub for Filipino gamers and gaming enthusiasts where they can improve their gaming strategies and techniques.

The G Legends Cup Finals is set to be streamed on Globe’s GGWP Facebook page on September 24. Know more about what awaits you during the National G Day celebration through https://www.globe.com.ph/help/rewards/g-day.html.
