Korean actors Kim Won-hae, Heo Dong-won now cured of COVID-19


Korean actors Kim Won-hae and Heo Dong-won have now recovered from coronavirus disease (COVID-19), more than a month after testing positive for the virus.

Last Aug. 20, the two actors were announced to have COVID-19. The two were in plays together with actor Seo Sung-jong, who tested positive for coronavirus a day earlier on Aug. 19.

The three were in the plays “Jjamppong” and “Cattle,” which cancelled performances on Aug. 19 when Seo Sung-jong’s positive test results came out. They were all together in “Jjamppong” while Seo Sung-jong and Heo Dong-won were in “Cattle.” The two plays were supposed to be performed at Yohangza Theater in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul from Aug. 19 to 30.

“Today, September 22, he has received the negative result and will be able to return to his daily life. After getting ill, he didn't have typical symptoms and his health was good. However, for concerns of late sequelae, Kim Won Hae will do his best to look after his health to be able to participate in next works with a healthy image,” said SSGG Company, Kim Won-hae’s agency, reported MyDaily.

Heo Dong-won’s agency, Ace Factory, also confirmed that he is now cured of COVID-19. After being discharged from a quarantine facility, he underwent self-isolation for two weeks and received a negative result on Sept. 22. The 40-year-old actor was in Lee Min Ho’s “The King: Eternal Monarch.”

On Aug. 23, the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that there were 31 people who were infected with COVID-19 related to theater company San, which was in-charge of “Jjamppong” and “Cattle.”

Kim Won-hae, 51, has appeared in dramas such as “Melting Me Softly,” “He Is Psychometric” and “Hotel Del Luna.” He recently starred in the K-drama “Graceful Friends,” which ran from July to September this year. He will be seen in the drama “Start-up,” which will premiere on Oct. 17 with Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk as leads.
