10-month-old LSI tests positive for COVID-19 in Panabo City


DAVAO CITY - A 10-month-old girl from Barangay Southern Davao in Panabo City in Davao del Norte province was the youngest among the new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) reported in Davao region

According to the Panabo City Health Office, the infant, identified as PC59, was a locally stranded individual (LSI), who boarded flight number 5J953 from Cebu. Another passenger from the same flight tested positive for the viral disease.

The infant arrived in Panabo City on September 8.

A total of 11 confirmed cases were recorded in Panabo City on September 19, including a three-year-old girl from Barangay New Malitbog. The girl is also an LSI from Cebu City. Based on the records, she arrived in Panabo on September 10, 2020 via sea vessel.

Meanwhile, among those who tested positive for COVID-19 in Panabo City were five returning overseas Filipinos, including a 42-year-old woman from Singapore, a 59-year-old woman from the US, a 29-year-old man from New Zealand, a 39-year-old man from The Netherlands, and a 39-year-old woman from China.

Panabo City has recorded a total of 62 cases of COVID-19, with 16 remaining active cases and 46 recoveries.

A total of 65 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was recorded in Davao region over the weekend.  Based on the Regional Situation Update of the DOH Davao Center for Health Development, 45 new cases were recorded on Saturday, September 19, while 20 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Sunday.
