Pangasinan registers highest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases of 49

PANGASINAN – This province posted its most number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in a single day in on Tuesday with 49.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Anna De Guzman said the most number of COVID-cases came from Dagupan City with 13, and Bayambang which had 12.

In Bayambang, she noted that most of the 12 cases had direct contact with a patient, who died last August 27.

Cases of COVID19 were also recorded in Binmaley (7), two each in Binalonan, Bolinao, and San Carlos City; and one each in Urdaneta City.Asingan, Bugallon, Labrador, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Mapandan, Pozorrubio, , San Nicolas, Rosales,  and. Calasiao,

Lockdowns in specific areas in the province were recommended to prevent spread of the virus.

De Guzman also noted the need for more isolation facilities.

Pangasinan has recorded a total of 582 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 158 active cases, 22 deaths and 402 recoveries.
