Some 6,450 jobs are up for grabs for Filipinos who were displaced by the coronavirus pandemic.
Vice President Leni Robredo announced these are the job vacancies posted by participating companies on the website Sikap.PH.
The Office of the Vice President launched an online platform, dubbed the bayanihanapbuhay, to help those who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 crisis.
This is the latest program initiated by Robredo’s office to help Filipinos cope with the impact of the pandemic.
“For those who are looking for a job, please visit our site sikap.ph. You can apply directly on the site. Just follow the instructions,” Robredo, in a Facebook post, said.
Robredo added interested applicants who need assistance can contact them at [email protected].
Among the available jobs are aircon technicians, staff nurses, automotive mechanic, forklift operator, industrial electrician, financial advisor, digital marketing manager, and business development associates.
Metro Manila, Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Cebu, and Iloilo account for most of the jobs.
The vice president noted there are companies looking for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) displaced by the pandemic.
“We don’t have partners in all areas that’s why we continuously look now for partners,” she said.
Robredo said her office is exploring to find a partner in the private sector that will provide skills training and certification course online.
