This is provided that the minimum public health standards as prescribed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, the Department of Health, DoLE, Department of Trade and Industry and other government agencies are "strictly implemented and observed."

In Labor Advisory No. 24-A-2020 dated September 11, the DoLE said the child also has the right to refuse work in accordance with Republic Act No. 9231 (Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) and Republic Act No. 11058 (Occupational Safety and Health).

According to DoLE, the advisory shall apply to employers whose business is allowed to operate during the community quarantine and will engage a child 15 to below 18 years of age in public entertainment or information.

The DoLE said the advisory supercedes Labor Advisory 24-2020 which was issued last July.

In the said advisory, the labor department said a child 15 to below 18 years of age may be engaged in public entertainment or information during community quarantine provided that his/her participation shall be done in his/her home under the supervision of adult family members

"Representatives of the employer or production staff may be allowed to go to the child's home, when necessary, to assist the child in performing the assigned task. In such cases, the employer shall inform the DOLE Regional Office having jurisdiction over the workplace of the child of its intention to engage a child 15 to below 18 years of age and submit a plan on measures that it will undertake to ensure compliance to health protocols," read the previous advisory.
