Mayor Jaime Fresnedi imposed an Extreme Localized Community Quarantine (ELCQ) on 7A Compound at the RMT Industrial
Complex from noon today (Sept. 9) until Sept. 24.

Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) chief, Dr. Teresa Tuliao, said the compound has a total of 11 confirmed
COVID-19 cases, five probable, and five suspect cases. The COVID-19 positive cases in the area were referred to the city’s isolation and treatment facilities.

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed on Aug. 15 and rose to 11 out of the 24 people in the compound,
translating to a high attack rate of 46 per 100 people with a narrow doubling time of 6.98 days, or the number of
days for coronavirus cases to double in number.

The RMT 7A Compound, which houses seven families with 24 individuals, is situated inside the industrial complex.
There are 57 companies operating in the area with 1,639 employees.

Tuliao said health protocols were not observed in the compound and it has a high-risk population of children,
pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens.

The CHO suspects a canteen in the complex became a transmission hotspot. The city government ordered the closure
of the canteen while the CHO is conducting an investigation and inspection with the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office.

Companies in the industrial complex were advised to augment health and safety measures to prevent further
infections. The CHO will conduct mass testing in the community and will intensify detection, isolation, and treatment strategies. Contact tracing will also start in the companies inside the complex.

The affected families will be given relief food packs and other basic goods during the ELCQ by the city
government and barangay.

The compound is the sixth area in Muntinlupa to be put under extreme lockdown after Filinvest Housing buildings
in Alabang, Morning Breeze Homes in Alabang, Sitio Pagkakaisa Zone 3 Interior in Sucat, and Block 35 Excess Lot in Soldiers’ Hills Village in Putatan.

As of Sept. 8, Muntinlupa has 3,718 confirmed cases including 2,857 recoveries and 128 deaths, leaving 733 active cases
