Leon Sumagui, the man Gladys Gueverra accused of running away with her hard-earned money after supposedly breaking her heart, has surfaced to refute her claims.

Sumagui took to YouTube Tuesday, to air his side of the story.

“Gusto ko i-defend ang sarili ko sa mga false accusations against me,” he began, before going on to deny allegation he stole money from Guevarra.

He said, “Simple lang naman po, kung may itinakbo man akong pera, tutal nakapaskil naman yung mukha ko sa social media…so kung may itinakbo talaga akong pera, why not kasuhan na lang po ako?

As to Guevarra saying he took away all the computer files she was using for her kakanin business, Sumagui said, “Medyo mabigat yung paratang na yun. Yung mga tinanggal ko sa office na yun, it belongs to me, gamit ko po lahat yun.”

He also denied destroying the computer that contained all the said files but he admitted to making unavailable Guevarra’s order forms.

Sumagui maintained it was hard for him to sit down and talk with Guevarra at that point given how she was allegedly brandishing a knife.

He talked to Guevarra’s brother instead relating their client’s money.

He has a share of Guevarra’s earnings.

According to Sumagui, he gets paid for delivering orders.

Given that Guevarra is more popular than he, many are accusing Sumagui of simply earning from her.

But Sumagui maintained he also shared in their expenses being her partner, citing he even produced a concert for her.

‘Yung ‘Breakfree.’ ‘Yan po. Flop po ‘yan, sad to say, and nag-abono pa po (ako) ng P20K.

He added, “I owned a 2007 car Toyota Altis before na ibinenta ko para mabili yung iPhone 11 na gusto niya. And then, right now, pinilit ko makabili ng kotse na Mitsubishi Lancer, 1985.

To those who were quick to judge him following Guevarra’s rants he said, “Sana bago niyo ako murahin at alipustahin, alamin niyo muna kung ano yung buong istorya…”

Sumagui and Guevarra met while he was working as social media producer of “Sunday Pinasaya.”

They would go on to work together editing videos of the former “Eat Bulaga” mainstay for her vlog.

They announced their engagement last year via social media.

Looking back, Sumagui said, “Alam kong mabuti siyang tao, mahirap lang siyang mahalin.”
