12 new COVID-19 cases, 5 new fatalities among Filipinos abroad

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Monday reported 12 new confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases and five new fatalities among Filipinos in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East. 

In its daily monitoring of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos worldwide, the DFA also recorded 42 new recoveries in Europe and the Middle East.

With the latest figures, the total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad is 10,129. Of the total, 6,323 have recovered, 3,043 are live cases, and 763 deaths. 

The Middle East/Africa remains as the combined regions with the biggest number of cases and deaths, 6,986 and 482, respectively. 

Together with its Foreign Service Posts, the DFA assures that it will continue to partner with host governments to ensure the safety and well-being of Filipino nationals abroad amid the pandemic.
