We had no doubt about the safety measures since its inception last July, looking at it as more of a genius move than a timely trend to bring people back into the game during a pandemic. People would want to rediscover the joy of holing up in their car, away from a fanboy spitting foul words in every scene while watching an adrenaline-filled action film. If we’re being honest, it’s the safer alternative even without a virus scare.

And, because it’s an improvised theater in a parking lot, it’s an alfresco experience. You don’t need to worry about outdoor sanitation and headcounts as SM only allows a maximum of four persons per vehicle, but it’s advisable to just drive in twos for a better viewing. Also, of course, as always, as ever, you can’t turn up without a face mask and face shield.

Each ticket costs P400 per person inclusive of a Snack Time bundle with bottled water, regular-sized popcorn, and beef franks. To maintain a contactless transaction, all tickets should be purchased through http://smtickets.com/sm-drive-in-cinema
