Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano has moved the curfew hours in the city from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. after President Duterte extended the general community quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila.
Aside from the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Batangas, Bacolod City and Tacloban City were likewise placed under GCQ from September 1 to 30.
“It is in the best interest of the City Government and its constituents to limit travels and mobility in the City during GCQ to help the authorities to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 but at the same time allow certain activities and businesses to resume,” Cayetano explained in his executive order.
The Taguig City government reminded the public that the city continues to implement minimum health and safety standards to control the spread of COVID-19.
These include wearing of face masks, hand washing and observing social distancing. All establishments or organizations should have at least one designated safety officer whose duty is to report to the city government if there is a worker who is suspected of having coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Health protocols should also be implemented in workplaces including wearing of face masks and temperature checks.
Business establishments are required to submit the Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan (IDPRP), which will contain safety and hygiene measures to prevent transmission of an infectious disease and manage a suspected case.
As of Aug. 30, Taguig has 4,801 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 4,159 recoveries, 44 deaths and 598 active cases.
