After going back to the gym, two fitness enthusiasts in Nueva Vizcaya test positive for COVID-19

NUEVA VIZCAYA – The latest victims of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) attended fitness classes and sessions at a gym in Solano town.

This was disclosed by Governor Carlos Padilla, who said in a Facebook post that the information was relayed to him by Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Health Chief Dr. Edwin Galapon.

“Dr. Galapon confirmed an additional case Friday night. The patient (CV 755) was a 31- year-old female from Purok 2, San Geronimo, Bagabag, and was exposed to CV 646, a 30-year-old male from Solano,” Padilla said.

He added that both CV 755 and CV 646 attended fitness classes and sessions at a gym in Solano.

Health records showed that CV 755 experienced loss of smell on August 25, and was swabbed on August 27.

Meanwhile, another death was recorded in the province Friday evening.

Health officials said the patient, tagged CV 572, who was a 62-year-old male from Barangay Don Mariano Marcos, Bayombong, passed away due to complications from COVID-19.

He was the third recorded COVID-19 death in the province, and had underlying comorbidities which made it harder for him to recover from the virus, according to Galapon.
