Pangilinan urges Malacanang to outrightly reject revolutionary gov't and focus on pandemic

Opposition Senator Francis N. Pangilinan on Tuesday urged Malacanang to undertake steps to stop proponents of  a revolutionary government that only distracts efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Supporters of the President are reportedly behind the proposed revolutionary government. They make up the so-called People’s National Coalition that is also asking for Charter change.

Pangilinan said this proposal must be rejected outright because people are hungry, thousands have been infected, hundreds have died, and scores do not have jobs because of COVID 19-triggered lockdowns.

He also cited the government’s seeming lack of funds in addressing the health threat and the massive corruption at the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
