156 displaced Pasay street vendors get P15,000 cash aid

The Pasay City government distributed P15,000 cash aid to each of the 156 street vendors displaced by the clearing operation ordered by President Duterte last year to clear public roads of obstruction.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the cash distribution Wednesday to street vendors affected by the clearing operations along Baclaran/Taft Avenue and Roxas Boulevard in November last year following the President’s directive.

The cash aid is part of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWDs) Livelihood Sustainable Program.

“At this time of pandemic due to coronavirus (COVID-19), we have to give those vendors cash aid to help them in any kind of business they wanted to start through the DSWD Livelihood Sustainable Program,” Rubiano said.
