Pililla, Rizal Mayor Dan Masinsin has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to a post shared by the Pililla Public Information Office, Masinsin began to feel COVID-19 symptoms on August 10 and immediately isolated himself. Masinsin took a swab test on August 15 and the results were released Monday.
Masinsin is currently confined at a private hospital, according to Better Pililla.
John Masinsin, son of Mayor Masinsin, told ABS-CBN News that his father experienced cough and shortness of breath. Family members were swabbed on Tuesday, August 18 and are now on a 14-day home quarantine.
Masinsin's close contacts are advised to undergo self-monitoring and home quarantine for 14 days.
