Pililla mayor tests positive for COVID-19

Pililla, Rizal Mayor Dan Masinsin has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to a post shared by the Pililla Public Information Office, Masinsin began to feel COVID-19 symptoms on August 10 and immediately isolated himself. Masinsin took a swab test on August 15 and the results were released Monday.

Masinsin is currently confined at a private hospital, according to Better Pililla.

John Masinsin, son of Mayor Masinsin, told ABS-CBN News that his father experienced cough and shortness of breath. Family members were swabbed on Tuesday, August 18 and are now on a 14-day home quarantine.

Masinsin’s close contacts are advised to undergo self-monitoring and home quarantine for 14 days.

“Kung kayo po ay magkaroon ng kahit na anong sintomas gaya ng ubo, lagnat, sakit ng katawan, at kahirapan sa paghinga ay agad na i-report sa ating Municipal Health Office sa numerong 09778309321 (If you experience symptoms such as cough, fever, body aches, and difficulty in breathing, immediately report to our Municipal Health Office at 09778309321),” Better Pililla wrote on Facebook.
