In a statement, General Sinas said he would be admitted on Wednesday night at the Chinese Medical Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila for his annual check-up.

“I will be having my annual check-up at Chinese Medical Hospital starting August 20 to 22. I will be admitted at the said hospital starting Wednesday evening,” said Sinas in a statement.

He then designated Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan as the Officer-In-Charge of the NCRPO from August 20 to 23, or depending on the clearance of his doctors for him to return to duty.

“All concerns and communications shall be directed to the OIC, NCRPO,” said Sinas.

“Nonetheless, I will continuously monitor the activities and operations of the NCRPO from time to time. Should there be emergencies or crises that need my direct supervision, rest assured that I will be there,” he added.

Various speculations cropped up after Sinas went on leave and designated Bathan as NCRPO OIC.
