A 5.2-magnitude aftershock jolted Masbate early Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The earthquake, which occurred at 5:50 a.m., was tectonic in origin and was traced 12 kilometers southeast of Cataingan, Masbate. It had a depth of 6 km.
Phivolcs said the quake was not expected to cause any damage to property. However, aftershocks are likely to happen.
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the town on Tuesday morning.
