Localized ECQ in Nabunturan brgy lifted

DAVAO CITY - The municipal government of Nabunturan in Davao de Oro province has lifted the localized enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Barangay Mainit on Monday.

Municipal Mayor Chelita Amatong signed on Sunday, August 16 the Executive Order No. 46 ordering the lifting of the localized ECQ in the said barangay. The order took effect at 6 a.m. the next day.

Based on the EO, the Nabunturan COVID-19 Crisis Team has recommended its lifting after all those who had close and direct contact with the 59-year-old mineworker, who tested positive for coronavirus disease, have tested negative.

"Aduna sab gipahitabo na confirmatory tests sa pipila ka mga naka close and direct contact na adunay mga "comorbidities" tungod sa edad ug mga pre existing conditions, sila gipang test pinaagi sa Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Test para sa COVID-19, kung diin nag negatibo sad ang mga maong indibidwal (Those who had comorbidities because of their age or preexisting conditions also underwent confirmatory tests through RT-PCR and they all tested negative)," it said. The local government did not specify how many were tested.

It can be recalled that the patient was a "suspected local transmission case" since he had no history of travel in places where there were local transmissions.

The mineworker works in a mining company in Barangay Masara underwent a rapid test initiated by their company last July 25.  He was the first positive case in Barangay Mainit. The LGU said the patient has already recovered.
