Five-member K-pop boy band CIX are targeting to release their new album in October after it was delayed due to member Bae Jin-young’s foot injury.

The idol group’s third mini-album “Hello Chapter 3: Hello, Strange Time” was originally set for release last June 30 but Bae Jin-young suffered ankle injury during a choreography practice in the first week of June.

In a notice released on Aug. 17, C9 Entertainment, CIX’s agency, gave an update on the former Wanna One member’s health status and schedule of the album’s release.

“Bae Jin-young, a member of CIX, was diagnosed with foot muscle joint sprain in June and he has been having drug therapy and physical therapy so far. His specialist said he was fully cured. But he didn’t use muscle for long so he keeps undergoing rehabilitation to train muscles,” the agency said.

It said a medical specialist said that Bae Jin-young will “have no problem with powerful choreography from 9th of September.”

“We have considered in many ways such as making the stage for four members or Bae Jin-young sitting down on the stage for which has been postponed, but we have decided to postpone the album release to make it working with five members all together,” C9 said.

The agency said that it “is currently rescheduling the release date of the postponed album, we are trying to make it in early October in time for the first fan meeting which has been delayed due to COVID-19 in February.”

But the fan meeting can be delayed or cancelled depending on Korean government guidelines on COVID-19 just like what happened in February, July and August, it added.

C9 assured fans that “the third album of CIX working with all members will be proceeding without changes even if the fan meeting in October is rescheduled.”

Before debuting in CIX in July 2019, Bae Jin-young was a member of the defunct boy band Wanna One, which debuted in August 2017 and disbanded in December 2018. Other members of CIX are BX, Seunghun, Yonghee and Hyunsuk.
