The first reusable, self sanitizing mask is now available in the PH

Fine Guard’s self-disinfecting mask easily kills bacteria and viruses in the air. And it’s now available in the Philippines

Almost overnight, masks have become a symbol of social responsibility. And it does make us feel safer, but any benefit of wearing a mask will be quickly negated if we lose our resolve about social distancing and hand washing.

But what mask should you wear? Experts say a simple fabric mask offers enough protection for someone who has only limited exposure to others during a brief time outside for groceries. N95 respirator masks, they say, should be reserved for hospital workers and emergency responders who are regularly exposed to high viral loads from infected patients.

But here’s good news for all of us: the world's first reusable, self-sanitizing face mask is now available in the country.

Using breakthrough virus control methods by Swiss hygiene technology company Livinguard, Fine Guard’s face mask comes with self-disinfecting properties, making them arguably the world’s only reusable mask brand clinically proven to immediately kill viruses and germs on contact, including the new coronavirus.

The mask, which comes in two designs, has obtained multiple FDA certifications from around the globe. It is recommended in countries such as Singapore, Australia, and Saudi Arabia in their fight against the disease.

Unlike typical disinfectants, which kill harmful agents but can be toxic to humans, Livinguard’s inactivation technology neutralizes germs safely, without causing irritation to the skin, while preventing the resurgence of pathogens that could survive and adapt.

Fine Guard N95 mask vs. regular N95 mask

“We’re very happy to be able to bring the brand to the Philippines. In doing so, we will be able to help protect more Filipinos against the threat of Covid-19 as we head toward the next normal,” said president of RPG distribution services Anton Huang

Because masks are worn over a long period of time, the Fine Guard mask is designed to fit snugly and comfortably on the face. The mask has adjustable ear bands and can be worn throughout the day.

It has an eco-friendly impact, too. As more medical wastes are polluting landfills and oceans, this self-disinfecting mask is made with reusable and washable textile-based materials.

Fine Guard mask is also guaranteed to eliminate viruses and bacteria for up to 30 washes and reusable for up to a year. Maintenance is easy—soak the mask in cold water and a small amount of hand soap for 30 minutes and then let it dry. The valve is sensitive underwater so it should be handled delicately.

The Fine Guard Comfort mask retails for P995, while the N95 model is priced at P1,495. They are now available in True Value, Afpces, and Rustan’s. They will soon be available in other leading stores nationwide.
