“We regret to inform you that the emergency room of Pasig City General Hospital will be temporarily closed from August 15 to August 19,” Sotto wrote in a social media post.

The mayor said they have to close the emergency facility of the city-run hospital for a few days as several medical staff working there have to undergo quarantine.

“Iniiwasan natin ang ganitong pagsara ng ER, pero marami po sa kanila ang kailangang mag-quarantine (We are trying to avoid a closure of the ER, but many of them have to undergo quarantine),” Sotto said.

“Kung mananatili silang bukas ay masasakripisyo rin ang kanilang serbisyo sa mga pasyente (If they remain open, their quality of service to patients will suffer),” he added.

The mayor has called on the public to continue supporting and praying for the welfare of frontliners.

The public may call 8-643-0000 if they need emergency medical assistance.
Pasig City has a total of 2,552 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Aug. 13. Of that number, 1,450 cases are active, 138 have died, and 964 patients have recovered.
