“Kung taga Pasig ka at nawalan ka ng panlasa, tumawag ka po sa hotline. Ite-test ka namin asap (If you are from Pasig and you lost your sense of taste, please call the hotline. We will test you as soon as possible),” Sotto wrote in a tweet.

Those experiencing symptoms may contact the Pasig’s COVID-19 Operations Center at 8643-0000 or at 0961-582-5019.

According to Sotto, the most common symptom experienced by some infected patients he has talked to was the loss of taste.

“The last five positive patients I texted all told me they had this symptom,” the mayor said. “Only two of the five were coughing.”

The most common symptoms experienced by those possibly infected with COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and tiredness.

They may also experience body pains, sore throat, diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, a rash on skin, or discoloration of fingers or toes.

Among the serious symptoms of the disease are difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain, or loss of speech.

Those experiencing such symptoms should seek immediate medical attention. They should first call the COVID-19 hotlines of their respective local government units.

Pasig City has 2,335 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Aug. 9 with 900 recoveries and 132 deaths.
