MOP Bishop Florencio prays for law enforcers

Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio on Saturday assured all law enforcers of the prayers and support of the Church in the performance of their daily tasks amid the pandemic as well as for the recovery of those who tested positive for COVID-19.

The MOP, Florencio said, is praying for all police forces, “the front liners who are risking their lives in the performance of their duties.”

“We are praying for all police officers and all the members of the branches under the Military Ordinariate who are risking their lives to implement safety and health protocols,” the bishop said over Church-run Radio Veritas.

As of August 5, the Philippine National Police Health Service reported 2,347 COVID-19 cases, with 11 deaths, and 1,384 recoveries.

The Military Ordinariate of the Philippines provides spiritual support to the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP), and the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
