At least 32 marijuana plants were uprooted when operatives of the Danao City Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Visayas (PDEA 7), Cebu Provincial Police Office, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company and Naval Forces Central discovered the plantation past 4 p.m. last Monday.

PDEA-7 spokesperson Leia Albiar said the alleged cultivator of the marijuana plantation, Baristor Camaongay, was able to escape.

Charges will still be filed against Camaongay, who was considered a high-value target, said Albiar.

The plantation was located in a hilly area in Sitio Pulgason.

During the operation, one of the police operatives sustained bruises in the head and arms after nearly falling off a cliff while uprooting the marijuana plants.
