Frontliners in Agusan del Sur get protective gear

BUTUAN CITY – Frontliners manning quarantine checkpoints and other health facilities in Agusan del Sur province and the lone component city of Bayugan received a total of 9,100 face shields, 500 boxes of face masks, and 1,640 pieces of pepper batons from local authorities.

The distribution of more protective gears aims to upgrade the personal protective equipment used by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), barangay watchmen, and officials who are directly involved in the implementation of health protocols to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The distribution started in July and was completed on Tuesday in the towns of Rosario and San Francisco.

Agusan del Sur 2nd District Rep. Adolph Edward “Eddie Bong” G. Plaza, 1st District Rep. Alfelito Bascug, and Agusan del Sur Gov. Santiago B. Cane personally handed over the protective gear and equipment to 13 towns and the lone city in Caraga region.

Reps. Plaza and Bascug and Gov. Cane Gov. Cane thanked the frontliners who are taking risks to help the government fight the pandemic.

Officials of Philsaga Mining Corporation (PMC) led by its President Atty. Raul C. Villanueva and Resident Manager Engr. Ferdinand Cortes also distributed protective gears to the frontliners in the province.
