According to Regional Director Ronnel Tan, they will close the section of the road in front of the ongoing Robinsons Place mall in San Fernando City from Saturday, August 8 at 9 p.m. until Monday, August 10 at 9 a.m. as part of the department’s construction, upgrading, and rehabilitation project along Manila North Road (MNR).

Excavation works will be conducted on the road section to install high-density polyethylene pipes for the cross drainage, he added.

As of Thursday, August 6, warning signs and barricades were already installed along the affected section, Tan said.

Motorists are advised to use the designated alternate routes for going further north towards Laoag or south towards Manila.

“In case of good weather conditions, Kennon Road may be used for the transportation or delivery of basic necessities and coronavirus response operations for Cordillera,” DPWH-Cordillera Administrative Region said.

Vehicles exceeding five tons gross weight and non-resident motorists going to and from Baguio City are advised to take Marcos Highway, Baguio-Bauang Road or Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-Rizal-Anduyan Road.
