UP records 118 COVID-19 cases

The University of the Philippines-Diliman has recorded 118 COVID-19 cases as of July 28.

UP revealed that among those infected were 88 Barangay UP campus residents and 30 non-campus residents.

“Of the 118 cases, 36 are active, 67 are recoveries, and six died of the disease,” UPD said in a bulletin Wednesday, July 29,” the statement said.

“Always wear your masks, observe physical distancing of at least one meter and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds,” it added.

UP meanwhile urged its employees who are unwell to temporarily cease reporting for work.

“However, if within the work premises an employee gets ill, he or she must be immediately isolated and reported to the UP Health Services (UPHS) for pick up,” it said.

The university also reiterated that all employees reporting for work must fill out a health declaration form.

“Health liaison officers must continuously check the forms and report to UPHS about the health conditions of employees especially those with COVID symptoms,” it added.

UP said the UPHS is continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the campus with the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU).
