Piat, Cagayan mayor positive again for COVID-19


CAGAYAN --- Piat Mayor Carmelo Villacete has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for the second time.

This was  reported Wednesday by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office following the positive result of his swab test.

Villacete, who is patient CV 312, has no history of travel but had symptoms of COVID-19 like cough and sore throat since July 24.

He was subjected to a swab test on Monday and the result turned out positive.

Villacete first tested positive for COVID-19 on April 2 and was patient PH 2764.

He made it public at the time that he was infected with the virus because he believed that those who tested positive for COVID-19 should be named.

He was confined at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center and tested negative on April 4. He was discharged from the hospital the next day, April 5.
