Actor Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso and director Laurice Guillen have joined the executive committee of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim appointed the two after the removal of Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) head Liza Dino few days ago for allegedly trying to “take over its chairmanship.”

Guillen was the very first chair of the FDCP, and current president of the Cinemalaya Foundation.

Nick is chairman of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

“Their track record speaks for themselves,” Lim said in a statement sent to Bulletin Entertainment.

He believes this development will “set the ground for  a more constructive and productive work for the MMFF executive committee and assure the public that it has reached out to all the sectors to serve the best interest of the film industry.”
