Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and concurrent Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Chairman Danilo "Danny" Lim on Wednesday (July 29) appointed two renowned directors to the MMFF's executive committee (Execom) to represent their sectors and organizations.

Lim appointed award-winning director and actress Laurice Guillen and renowned actor, director, and producer Nick Lizaso. Both of them will be sworn in on Thursday (July 30).
Guillen was the very first chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines and is currently the president of Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc.
Lizaso has been working for over 60 years in theater, television, and film. He is currently the president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and chair of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts.
Lim said he is excited about this development, saying he believes in the integrity and wisdom of the two new members. "Their track record speaks for themselves."
The MMFF chairman was optimistic that their appointment will set the ground for more constructive and productive work for the MMFF Execom, and assured the public that it has reached out to all the concerned sectors to serve the best interest of the film industry.
Lim also said Guillen's appointment to the MMFF execom "will start a more fruitful collaboration between MMFF and Cinemalaya."
