The Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA)- Philippines, which counts as members more than hundred hotels and resorts around the country, will be rolling out its online travel mart, offering up to 70 percent discount to clients from September 15-30.
In a Facebook post, HSMA Philippines announced the massive sale will be valid for a year from the date of purchase.
Prior, the Department of Tourism (DOT) issued guidelines governing the operation of hotels and resorts in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
To be able to resume operations, the establishments are required to secure a certificate of authority to operate from the DOT regional office in their area.
They should also be able to operate at 50 percent capacity.
Last May, HSMA Philippines also launched an online sari-sari store as part of their recovery efforts to help member hotels stay afloat amid losses incurred following the pandemic.
The hotel industry as with the tourism sector are among the hardest hit by the ongoing global health crisis.
