PPA waives port fees anew in support of LSIs

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is reducing port fees and charges anew in support of the second send-off of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) under the "Hatid Tulong" program of the government which was formerly known as the "Hatid Probinsya" program.

In an advisory on Wednesday, the PPA said 4,000 LSIs, 120 buses from the National Capital Region (NCR), and different vessel and Ro-Ro operators in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao  will benefit from the program from July 25 to 26.

“The waiver and reduction of port charges for the use of PPA facilities are aimed at cushioning the financial cost of ferrying the LSIs to their home provinces,” the PPA said.

The PPA said the passenger terminal fee and Ro-Ro terminal fee for buses and other vehicles are waived.

Port fees and charges for Ro-Ro vessels and other sea-going vessels are reduced to P1 based on PPA Memorandum Circular no. 24-2020.
