Año said the consensus was arrived at following a meeting Monday with officials from the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), League of Cities, League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), League of Provinces of the Philippines Liga ng mga Barangay and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

We agreed on how to implement localized lockdown. They will also submit their proposal on how to handle LSI who are going back to their home provinces and we also want to have the same implementation of health standards in every LGU with violators being jailed for a few days, including those not wearing face masks. Those not observing physical distancing will also be penalized with similar sanctions wherever they go),’’ Año reported to President Duterte during a recorded briefing aired over  PTV4 on Tuesday.

Año said this new approach will be implemented by a team of experts in cooperation with local chief executives (LCE).
