DFA reports 9 new confirmed victims of COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported nine new confirmed COVID-19 cases of Filipinos abroad in Asia and the Pacific and Europe, nine recoveries in Asia and the Pacific, and one new fatality in the Middle East
 
In its latest report, the DFA said they also received one new report from a country in Europe, bringing the total number of countries and regions with confirmed cases among Filipinos to 68.
 
Over the past several days, the DFA has assisted in the repatriation of more than 900 distressed and stranded Filipinos from Manado, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, and the United Arab Emirates.
 
“With these new developments, the DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and stands ready to earnestly assist and facilitate repatriations whenever possible,” the foreign affairs office said.
