The Department of Agriculture suspended work at the central office in Quezon City from July 20 to 24.
DA Secretary William Dar, in a memorandum signed July 19, said work in the department’s main office will be suspended “amid the recent development of the threat of COVID-19.”
“This measure is to facilitate the extensive and thorough disinfection of all buildings and offices inside the DA Central compound as well as installation of administrative and engineering precautionary measures against COVID-19,” Dar said.
DA said the work suspension would also “afford” all its personnel a 14-day quarantine period.
“To ensure service continuity and continued operations, all are expected to be on-call and accessible via Information Technology (IT) applications,” Dar said.
“All heads of offices shall likewise provide work-from-home assignments to their respective staff and ensure timely and quality submission,” he added.
