Jealous Bulacan man, 71, shoots self after firing on partner and her lover


CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan--An enraged and jealous 71-year-old man shot himself in the head with a .45-caliber revolver after shooting his live-in partner and her alleged lover in Brgy Gaya- Gaya in this city Wednesday afternoon, (July 15), according to a police report.

Based on the report submitted to Bulacan police director Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, the shooter was identified as Ezeikiel Garcia Quiambao, of Spring Town Villas, Brgy. Gaya-Gaya. His live-in-partner was identified as Lettey Velaras Arquilla, 54, and her alleged lover as Elezalde Garcia Cansino, 36.

Initial investigation disclosed that Quiambao, jealous over Arquilla's alleged dalliance, shot her while she was at her daughter's house, and afterward shot Cansino.

Quiambao died immediately after turning the gun on himself. His victims were rushed to Sapang Palay District Hospital for medical attention, where Cansino died of his injuries. Arquilla is still in the hospital for treatment.

Recovered from the crime scene were one .45-caliber Remington revolver, one empty magazine, four fired .45-caliber cartridge cases, one silver necklace, one silver ring, one silver wristwatch, two cellular phones, and P100 in twenty-peso bills.
