CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan–The Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported a surge in coronavirus cases with nine children aged five to 13 as among the 23 new cases.
The young patients who tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are from the cities of San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan and the town of Marilao.
Bulacan has 617 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 237 recoveries and 37 deaths.
Alarmed by the surge in cases since Wednesday, July 8, Facebook users called on their fellow Bulakenyos to strictly adhere to health protocols – wear face masks and physical distancing — to avoid the virus.
They also urged the provincial government to tighten restrictions on new arrivals. They said those who tested positive for the virus have a travel history.
Those found positive for the virus are increasing. We should not wait for all of us to get infected with COVID-19. In the City of San Jose Del Monte and here in the town of Marilao, the number of positive COVID-19 case are increasing because people converge without facemasks, without physical distancing. And you also see this among children who play outside their homes),” the Facebook users of Sta Maria and Marilao posted.
