Galicia Street in Navotas placed on 14-day lockdown

Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has placed a street in his city and surrounding areas under a 14-day lockdown after seven of its residents tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Galicia St. in Barangay Bangkulasi, as well as its nearby alleys and areas within one-kilometer radius have been placed on lockdown starting 5:01 a.m. of Friday, July 10 until 11:59 p.m. of July 23 after Tiangco issued Executive Order No. TMT-037.

The local government aims to reduce the possible spread of infections by silent carriers during the lockdown.  Contact tracing of all those who came in contact with the new COVID-19 cases is underway.

The EO directs barangay officials to coordinate with the Philippine National Police and the city's disaster risk and reduction office in manning its boundaries.

Barangay officers were also tasked to take charge of the resident's provisions while the Bureau of Fire Protection will clean and disinfect the area.
