Parañaque City public school requests gadget donations

A public school in Parañaque City is seeking donations of mobile devices for the use of their students after the Department of Education (DepEd) announced the use of blended learning methods this school year.

The campaign for the donations, with the theme “Gadget Ko, Tulay sa Future Mo,” particularly seeks mobile phones for the students of Parañaque National High School (PNHS), after the DepEd minimized face-to-face learning in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a post on its Facebook page, the PNHS shared the results of a survey they conducted that found that 628 students don’t have mobile phones.

The school has requested the school's alumni or general public for the donations of mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, in particular new or second-hand Android mobile phones with a minimum of 1GB RAM and expandable memory.

PNHS also said the city government will provide a P500 monthly mobile phone load allowance to all the city’s public school students.
