More regions abroad report Filipinos with COVID-19

Alongside the upward trend in the number of confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases among overseas Filipinos, the number of countries/regions with COVID-positive Filipinos has also increased to 64.
This is the second day that new confirmed cases were reported in an African country.
In its latest tally, the Department of Foreign Affairs recorded 30 new confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad, 17 new recoveries in Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Africa, and two new fatalities in Africa. 
The DFA reiterated its commitment to continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos all over the world as it stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible.
Also on Thursday, 323 stranded and distressed Filipinos, including four infants, were repatriated from Doha onboard a chartered and paid flights. 
This was the third chartered flight that brought home Filipinos from Qatar since June, 2020.
