7 new COVID-19 cases in Zamboanga City recorded


ZAMBOANGA CITY -  Seven  new additional confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported on Wednesday  night, raising the total tally for Zamboanga City to 260.

Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco said the city has recorded 78 active cases for Zamboanga with 174 recoveries and eight mortalities.

Of the seven newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases, two were from the community; one locally stranded individual (LSI), and four freed persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

Climaco said the four former PDLs were quarantined in one of the buildings inside the Zamboanga Economic Zone Authority (Ecozone) before they were allowed integration to the community.

A female, 30, and an LSI from Manila who arrived in the City on July 2 were asymptomatic and isolated at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU)-Lantaka Isolation Facility.

Another COVID-19 positive was a 58-year-old female from the village of Tetuan and was admitted at Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) due to fever, cough, and Chronic Kidney Disease and was undergoing Hemodialysis.

Climaco also revealed they also recorded a 27-year-old female from the village of Zambowood. She is symptomatic and is now isolated at the ADZU-Lantaka Isolation Facility.
