Mayor Jaime Fresnedi signed Executive Order No. 27 on July 7, putting Buildings 1 and 7 of the housing complex under enhanced localized community quarantine (ELCQ) for 16 days from July 7 to 22.

According to Muntinlupa City Health Officer Dr. Tet Tuliao, the two buildings have a total of 15 active COVID-19 cases with a narrow doubling time of 1.89 days, the fastest recorded transmission rate among communities to be put under lockdown in the city.

Doubling time refers to the number of days for COVID-19 cases to double in number. Tuliao noted that the standard rate of transmission should be at 7 to 30 days.

As of July 6, the city government has recorded 18 COVID-19 positive cases at Filinvest Socialized Housing including one recovery.

Filinvest Socialized Housing is an 18-building residential complex and the two buildings under lockdown have 80 families with 303 individuals.

Tuliao noted the housing units in the complex are close to one another and the community has a high-risk population of children, pregnant women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizens.

The city government advised residents in the housing complex to buy essential goods including food, medicine, and basic supplies prior to the lockdown. The city’s Social Services Department will provide additional relief food packs and other basic goods during the lockdown, and the City Health Office will conduct mass testing in the community.

Members of the Muntinlupa Police will be stationed at the housing complex to provide security in the area.

Filinvest Socialized Housing is the fourth community in Muntinlupa to be placed under extreme lockdown following Morning Breeze Homes in Bgy. Alabang, Sitio Pagkakaisa Zone 3 Interior in Bgy. Sucat, and Block 35 Excess Lot in Soldiers’ Hills Village in Bgy. Putatan.

Muntinlupa City has 505 confirmed cases as of July 6, including 306 recoveries and 39 deaths, leaving 160 active cases or 31.7 percent of the total.
