ILOILO CITY—The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) has additional 300 cops to maintain peace and order in Western Visayas region as the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues.
PRO-6 Director Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan led the oath-taking of the 300 newly minted cops at Camp Delgado, the regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) located in Iloilo City.
The neophyte cops are going to be assigned at police units spread across the region comprising of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental province as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.
Pamuspusan strongly urged the neophyte cops to uphold moral and ethical standards as men and women in uniform.
During enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), several cops were caught violating the liquor ban by engaging in illegal activities such as helping in transportation of liquor.
The 255 male and 45 female cops still have to undergo a six-month training at the PNP’s training facility in Bacolod City and another six-month field training program.
The oath-taking also coincided with the start of the 25th Police Community Relations Month.
