Senators are reviewing the proposed Bayanihan Act 2 sent to Congress by the Executive branch as a follow up to the now expired Bayanihan 1 that sought to address the multi-sectoral problems created by coronavirus disease (COIVID-19).
Senator Panfilo M. Lacson said the Senate would go through the same legislative process they followed when they enacted Bayanihan 1 that expired June 24.
The proposed measure, according to Lacson, is a good approach to providing the stimulus that Philippine enterprises and industries need at this time.
“The initial reading of some provisions would suggest that only industries affected by the pandemic should benefit from the financial support or stimulus package being proposed by the executive branch,’’ he said.
“But we have not finished, my staff is reviewing all the provisions. And it will go through the same legislative process that we follow. We’ll update you accordingly once we have a good grasp of the different provisions of the proposed measure,’’ he added.
