108 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad


The number of confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases among Filipinos abroad has increased by 108, bringing the total number of overseas Filipinos infected with the disease to 8,614, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Thursday.

In its latest report, the DFA said the increase in new confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad were mostly in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East. 

The increase, it added, is due to more accurate sourcing of data, as well as, late reports received by the various Foreign Service Posts

The DFA also recorded 17 new recoveries in Europe and the Middle East, while seven new deaths were reported in the Middle East as well. 

With a new report from another country in Africa, the total number of countries/ regions with COVID-19 cases among Filipinos is now 61.
